Internships available at the TAT / Juara Turtle Project in Tioman Island
We are looking for three biology and two eco-tourism graduates who can take on a one-month trial internship starting immediately. Free room and board will be provided, but there will be no stipends given.
After the trial period, suitable interns will be offered a further five-month internship which includes free room and board, and RM75.00 per week stipend.
Further to the 5-month internship, interested and selected interns we will be offered a 6 month to 1 year contract with a salary. The salary will be subjected to available funding and performance of the candidate during the internship.
The turtle nesting season here should be ending around November, however there is much to do and to learn before the upcoming season which begins in March 2011.

The scope of work will extend beyond biology and conservation. Eco-tourism graduates will be expected to help develop eco-tourism activities at and around the project sites. Creating awareness and building relationships and trust within the community is key to the success of our project. Interns are also expected to be fully involved in the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility. They must be flexible, and willing to work hard, and be able to deal with stressful situations that may arise from time to time.
