Conservationists Prof Chan Eng Heng, Chen Pelf Nyok and Chang Kew Fong plan to stay awake for 24 hours on Sunday, just so they can blog. They are doing it for the turtles as they hope the blogathon will help raise funds for the newly-established Turtle Conservation Centre in Setiu.
Wading over sandy ground, 99 river terrapins made their way to freedom after being released into Setiu River in an annual event dubbed Terrapin Independence Day.
As fishermen prepared to break their fast on Wednesday, 99 river terrapins raised in captivity had their first taste of freedom.
The Turtle Conservation Centre (TCC) is offering three-year-old terrapins raised in captivity for adoption as part of its inaugural “Terrapin Independence Day” celebration on Sept 9.
