We are pleased to announce that “Little Turtle Messenger,” a kiddies’ book written by Chan Eng Heng and illustrated by Tan Yi Sin is now in press and expected to be released by the end of June 2010.
Our First World Turtle Day at TCC was celebrated yesterday in honour of all the children at Mangkuk Village in Setiu.
We hosted two more visitors, Pat and Alan Koval from Canada who spent a day with us yesterday (19 May 2010). Pat is the Chairman of WWF Canada and is also a board member in the Turtle Survival Alliance.
Soon after Gerald and Guundie left, we were honoured by a visit from Bernard Devaux from France. Bernard is well-known in the turtle community. He owns the Tortoise Village in Gonfaron, France and has also established Tortoise Villages in Senegal and Madagascar.
Our good friends Gerald and Guundie Kuchling were with us @ TCC in Mangkuk from 6-11 May 2010. They arrived on the same evening Pelf and I got back from India, so you can imagine how hectic it has been for us.
Pelf and I were away in India from 20 April – 6 May, mainly to attend the 30th International Sea Turtle Symposium in Goa. I presented a paper entitled “16 Years of Running A Marine Turtle Conservation Project: How Do We Measure Success?”
