Blog

Welcome!

We have decided to dedicate a page to welcome everyone who has been following our blogs at the old Turtle Research and Rehabilitation Group (TRRG) website that was parked in the UMT server. I had written a concluding announcement there, but unfortunately, the website was removed abruptly without our knowledge. I am sure many of you did not even get the chance to read our final message posted there.

The removal of the TRRG website is a loss as it contained interesting and useful information and had provided a record of our activities carried out over the last 18 months. However, we have to move on and will now concentrate our energies into developing this new website. You will realise that we have moved some elements of the old website here. We will also try to archive some of the old blog posts and news articles here.

We will endeavour to chronicle all future activities here. Therefore, we hope you will join us as we continue with our journey to help save turtles.

Added: We have restored most of the blog posts and news articles from the old TRRG website. You may find them in the Archives page.

  8. hi! I’m from Slot N this year and definitely find that the sudden change in the website has been annoying and discouraging. All the effort has been done including the T-shirt to increase awareness on the websites but now… >.<

Anyway I'm writing an article about increasing the awareness of this programme on a Singapore online media. Will keep you all posted when I submitted it soon.

    • Hi Boon Ming,
Please realise that this TCC website is not a replacement for the TRRG website. We are a new organization with new visions and objectives and have nothing to do with the TRRG now. The material we have archived from the old TRRG website just chronicles the activities we carried out while we were still attached to it. If you feel annoyed that the TRRG website has been removed, please express yourself by sending an email to turtle@umt.edu.my
We were equally annoyed that it had been removed.
      Best wishes.

  13. I was a SEATRU volunteer in 2003 and 2005 and have been following the TRRG blogs regularly. It was quite a shock to see the sudden change in events in the past month.
I wish TCC all the best and I look forward to opportunities to support you in the future. Keep up good work, Prof and Pelf!
