Gearing up for the Turtle Blogathon

Excitement is mounting as the day for the anticipated Turtle Blogathon draws near. We have just received offers of packages/prizes from Max Generation Sdn. Bhd. to be used in conjunction with the blogathon. The sweet angel who sent these gifts to the TCC is May Leng, an individual well-wisher. Thank you so much May Leng for adding this new dimension to the blogathon! Let’s hope it will help draw greater participation from the public.

A sneak preview at the exciting packages/prizes to be given away or auctioned during the Turtle Blogathon:

  1. a 5D4N stay for two at one of the many resorts of your choice in either Bali, Phuket or Pattaya*
  2. a 3D2N stay for two at one of the many resorts of your choice in one of 6 locations in Malaysia* and
  3. an opportunity to fly a plane*. YES, YOU READ IT RIGHT. FLY A PLANE. AWESOME.

On Friday, Oct 23rd, we will be finalizing the questions and arranging them to give the information a better flow. We have also decided to intersperse the Questions-and-Answers with turtle trivias and turtle quotes. You may also send us your favourite turtle quote on that day. Additionally, Friday has also been declared the day to go shopping for grub to sustain us before, during and after the 24-hour blogging marathon.

We now have two more guest bloggers in addition to Rahayu from WWF-Malaysia. Their identities will be revealed only when they come in to blog with us on the 25th or 26th of October ;)

I am also sprucing my place up a little to make it more turtley (as if it isn’t already:)). Some pics are posted here to let you have an idea of the physical setting we will be in.

On Sunday, Oct 25th, the chatbox will be put up on the TCC website so that we can chat a little with those of you who would be dropping by to say “Hello” before the blogathon begins. We will also be giving you updates on what we would be doing on that day, in those hours leading up to the blogathon.

During the blogathon, Pelf and I will be answering the questions received, and Fong will be in charge of updating the Turtle Blogathon event page @ Facebook with pictures and videos of the three of us :)  So please make sure you’ll be online to give us your moral (and financial) support, OK?

Many people have sent us their turtle questions so we may have to mix and match some related questions together.

  6. Dearie….i have recently returned from a weekend trip to cherating and wonder if this initative includes management of that facility? There seems to be only 2 persons who work there and they have expressed worry in case their stamina in manning the facility may cease…Question : May i know how the initiative supports management and manning of sanctuaries and facilities alike? ie proposed ‘house-manship for vets as newly graduated doctors?
