Back in Mangkok after the CNY break

Fong and I got back to our base in Mangkok last night (20th February), after our long CNY break. The first thing I did upon arrival was rush to our box of terrapin eggs. I was devastated by what I saw.

More on our activities

Since our absence from our base from 10 February, we have procurred two more clutches of eggs for incubation. Malek and Ropi, our two very dependable village friends and assistants have helped us make the purchase and incubate them.

We at TCC would like to wish all our Chinese friends and supporters a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year!  May it be a roaring good year for the turtles too!

We got our first clutch of eggs last night

After establishing our base in Kampong Mangkok for more than 11 days, we finally procured our first clutch of river terrapin eggs for incubation.

We have been busy

We now have a base in Kampung Mangkok where the river terrapin recovery project is being carried out.  I will write more when we are settled.  There are just too many things to see to right now.
